The First Archivist, 1923
A figure seated at a desk, face turned from the camera. The desk is covered in papers. On closer inspection, the papers appear to be blank.
The Gate, Before It Opened
A doorway in a stone wall. The door is closed. There are scratch marks on the inside.
The Choir, Empty
A long hall with high ceilings. Rows of empty chairs face a raised platform. The acoustics suggest the room is larger than it appears.
Specimen Room, Sublevel B
Shelves lined with glass containers. The contents are not visible. One container in the foreground is cracked. It is empty.
The Last Visitor
A person standing in a corridor, back to the camera. The corridor extends beyond the frame. The person appears to be walking away, but the photograph was taken three hours after they arrived.
The Keeper's Study, Undated
A room cluttered with journals and correspondence. A candle is lit on the desk. This photograph was taken in 1997. The candle was still burning when the room was found in 2012.
Outside
Nothing. The frame contains absolute darkness. It was taken outdoors, in daylight, according to the metadata.
Self-Portrait of the Archive
This photograph should not exist. It was found in the archive but does not depict any known location. The shapes in the image resist description. Looking too long causes [REMAINDER OF CARD CORRUPTED]

These photographs were recovered from the keeper's study. Their origins remain disputed. The correspondence found alongside them suggests they were sent from multiple sources over a period of decades. The room in which they were found has since been sealed.
